My husband is currently signed off work, which is mainly due to the job/work place itself.
Is it possible for him to leave this job on medical grounds? and if so we'd like to know what benefits would we be entitled if he did leave.
Would they be lessened due to him leaving or will he sign under sickness?
Any help would be appreciated.

Forgive me but is that not just telling a big fat lie?
The OP didn't say he doesn't like his job/work. The OP said, "My husband is currently signed off work, which is mainly due to the job/work place itself." Which could mean any number of things ... work related stress, physical injury, industrial accident, RSI ... half a hundred things.
Don't put words in someone's mouth then accuse them of lying ...
There are benefits available for those who are unable to work due to illness, disability etc. Employment Support Allowance, Disability Living Allowance, Industrial Injuries Disability Benefit etc etc ... if we knew a wee bit more about his circumstances we might be better able to advise :j0 -

On a diffrent point,Job seekers allowance cant usually be claimed by people who leave their job of their own accord either...if he chooses to leave it is not looked upon favourably. And im sorry but you cant sign on for being sick if your quitting cause you dont like the work place either - what tosh!!
Where does adea state that her husband wants to leave just because he does not like their job?
adea, can you give us more information please?
Do you work, and do you have children?
How long has he been in the job?
Would he be looking to find a new job straight away, or will he still be too unwell to work?
Leaving a job due to undue stress (if this is the reason) can be a valid reason in order to claim JSA, but your entitlement would depend more on your specific circumstances.

I apologise if i have mis-read the OPs post...i am literally reading with one eye open  If i am mistaken then like i said sorry...been a long day-and im not quite with it
Having a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona0 -
Apology accepted.:)
To clarify:
It is not that my husband dislikes the job, the stress involved in the workplace (possibly other factors) has contributed to him being diagnosed with depression and being signed off by our GP and prescribed antidepressants.
I am a SAHM to a 5 and 6 year old.
He has been at the job for 3 years.
At the moment we are unsure when he would be well enough to return to work.
We are currently in receipt of child and working tax credit as well as child benefit.
Thanks for looking.0
