No, unfortunately, no assets whatsoever. Single person, no car or mortgage, renting a flat. Redundant in November, managed to find a job but on 50% less than previous job.
Yes, best to ask CCCS for help with forms if you get stuck. Or the very nice people on this forum. Have you read the sticky at the top of the board thoroughly. There is an example of the Debtors Bankruptcy Petition and the Statement of Affairs.0 -
If you get stuck with the forms, then ask as many questions a s you need.
They are a PITB.

Hi Betterlife
I went bankrupt for a lot of money in 2006. I had actually used 3k of the money to go on holiday to try and cheer up my family and save my marriage. I told the court this in a narrative i wrote to go with my petition. I gave them a potted history of my life since age 16 - I was 43 when I went br.
I would suggest that anyone going bankrupt does with narrative to save the judge asking any questions.
I had no assets apart from a car which was attached to my husbands business and I had no payment order. I owed 130k, i was discharged in 6 months.
I was allowed to keep my bank account as I had my child benefit paid into it and my maintenance. I had a Co-op account. I now have a Barclays account with a cheque book and a £10 buffer for overdrawing by mistake.
This is the start of your new life.

Hi Hermoine
My partner has 200K in debts (through being wrongly advised)but still manages to pay the mortage and the necessary bills
Has a good paid job but it is all swallowed up in debt(but is one amazing person)
Do you think if i done a narrative for the judge explaining about my partners debt this would help
x0 -
And thats excluding 188K mortage0

Didnt sleep last night for stressing
Starting to think now do i try to offer my creditors £1 token payment a month initially
And I can get a full time job and an evening job and still run my business0 -
hi betterlife i know exactly how you are feeling I am waiting for my OH to go bankrupt, we are trying to find the spare money after kids have been fed, bills paid etc... I am feeling so depressed I just cant see it getting any better, my OH has been running his own company for 3 years and was just turning a profit when the downturn struck, we now owe (including mortgage) almost £500000 i could cry as i look at that figure, beacuse there is a business involved I cant beging to imagine how it will all be sorted out.. we have also got to explain how we run up 3 huge credit card debts and a large loan and an overdraft so he could pay his contractors so in turn they could pay their bills and mortgages we havent had a holiday for 5 years and days out as a family are now only possible with tescos clubcard deals..but whether they believe us is another thing, I keep hearing people on this site saying how much better things will get after BR but at the moment it all seems so s**t, I wish you luck with your situationBig Thanks to all who post on the comps board0

Hi Gang!
I just wanted to say: After 5 years of this debt.
I'm finally coming to the end ... finally I am going to file for bankruptcy and I cannot wait!!
I spare you all the fine details cause If I have to write it all here and re-live in my memories this post could get rather nasty. Thats not what I want.
Anyways I am going to partition for bankruptcy, I got all my details concluded with CCCS - who have been great I might add, then today out of the blue I get a council tax demand - well not so much a demand but they have asked the Jobseekers Allowance people to deduct a certain portion of my JSA towards the CONcil TAX.
I'm cool with it and can't wait to wash my hands of my debts and then when ready to wash my hands of this country.
Thanks and good luck to you all.

thanks betterlife,
this place is great when things get too much , I dont know about you but I always find it scary on this site when people are bricking it and they are in debt of like £3000 or £5000 i feel like OMG put a couple of noughts on it and then tell me how you feel !! but i realise what might seem a small amount to someone is a fortune to someone else. What type of business did you have ? My OH has/had a construction company work around here is practically non existent now in that field.Big Thanks to all who post on the comps board0
