The banks may not recover, not without nationalization.

Being pedantic, I wouldn't call that recovery, but failure.

I picked up 1235 shares in BARC this morning, let's see where we go :D

I bought a large sum of Barclays shares on Thursday because although I think the management are rubbish, I felt the share price was ludicrous, only to see it fall 12% on Friday, then rally 56% at the time of writing. Nobody with a weak heart should buy bank stocks!
  • Very nice Reaper!

What's your upside target? I'm aiming for 1.50...just not sure when that's going to happen :D Not too long though I feel; lets see what the results bring in early Feb

    Absolutely right! .:)

Even at 90p a share Barclays is still seriously undervalued as well. :)

...I can't quite muster the courage to repeat my Lloyds purchase though... :p

  • With a 50% rise there is the luxury of withdrawing all of the original money and still having an interest in the share with absolutely no risk or worry, not often that can be done so quickly

I wonder if the Shorters got shafted :D I think the Barclays board may have allowed themselves a smile if they had.
'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher
