The bit that bothers me about this is the card. How can he afford to post out over 100,000 cards. I sense we may have to pay to get the card.

Don't forget to see http://www.petrolprices.com/ it gives you the cheapest petrol prices in your area. You do have to have to register, but it does work!

    From the Pipeline Website:

    What's the catch?
There isn't one. Really. There is no charge for membership and the cards will be issued free.

However as I posted in the original thread at best it may be a similar scheme to that operated by Fleet cars. I.e. A Fuel card that allows you to buy petrol from a specific brand of petrol station at a nationally agreed price. Savings of 5-10p if you buy from a Motorway Shell, but possibly more expensive than supermarket prices. Possibly credit checks needed for applicants etc.

That is of course assuming he can find a supplier to back the scheme. I suspect that there are more wishes than horses in this, though hoping to be proved wrong.

  • Hi

I'm Ben ScammelI - the person who set up Pipeline. My name is my name as has been discussed exhaustively on over 1500 online forums now - as in Scammell trucks and !!!!!! Scammell, former Managing Director of Cosworth Racing. Google for Scammell and you will find lots of us, google for me specifically and you will find details of my racing history and the fair fuel tax web site I set up three years ago.. Pipeline Card is not a scam; it's an organisation set up to use the Internet to get a better deal for British motorists.

I'm sorry that some of you seem to be having difficulties accessing the site. The site is up and running and has been registering members continuously since it was first set up. It's all working properly so please contact admin@pipelinecard.org or write to me personally - ben@pipelinecard.org and we will try to sort out what is going wrong for you.

    Ben
