house and Nursing home question

Not sre if this is the right board to post this on but we are selling our house and my mum is selling hers and we are combining the funds and buying a bigger house with a granny annex for mum to live in as she needs extra care. The house will be registered in my and my husbands name. Should mum become to incapable of living in the house will this affect her getting a place in a nursing home that is sorted out by social services. Mum gets pension credit.
