The freeview channels are grouped together, so several channels will be broadcast on one Multiplex. it sounds like where your friend is they can't receive one of the Multiplexes. If they go here they can find which transmitter is the best one to use and try pointing the aerial at that. they may need to get a new aerial though. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
Has he got another freeview tv in the house, and can that receive more channels?
Sounds like he's moved from analogue to freeview and now finds he cannot receive all the channels, quite common in areas of poor freeview coverage. Nothing to do with the TV, more to do with your area.
Although that said some of the freeview tuners can receive a better signal than others...

Another person at the same address also has got a LCD and has no problems getting every channel freview included0

It's not to do with the fact that it's LCD, it's due to the fact that it's Freeview.
Same brand or different?
If the other LCD TV is also Freeview, then the fault could lie with the aerial feed for the second TV or perhaps the TV has an inferior tuner.0 -
Just a thought.
When you connect the new LCD (Liquid Crystal Display ) television to the known good working aerial it will be necesssary to retune the set so that it will pick up the additional digital ( freeview) stations.
Look for the autotune menu.
BTW I think you will find the set is a Technika which is a tesco own brand. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
blue1159, I think Inactive was trying to help:
Quote: Yes we have tried it but the LCD in question will not pick up the channels either on that LCD strange but true
I think the second LCD should be aerial, but it would be good to have it clarified.0
