London City Airport

Have just dropped off two people at London City Airport. Didnt know where the dropping off point was, so went into car park near the terminal, passengers got out, grabbed their suitcases and then I drove off. Saw someone typing stuff into a gadget he had in his hand. Could this possibly be a parking fine, soon to arrive in the post.

Anyway, my query at the moment is that I am due to pick up the same 2 passengers in about 3 weeks time. Does anyone know where the picking up point is at London City Airport?

TIA

Have to say that fried my head a bit cos you were right next to it!

From what you say, you turned left into a small looping road and then immediate left into a car park. If you had continued round that road for just 30m the drop off/pick up is there, right next to the car park!! -

That area, immediately outside the terminal entrance, has dropoff, taxi rank, bus stops and the car park and yet covers a length of less than 150m in total.

Given you didn't see the drop off point I'm wondering if you were somewhere else entirely? Was it maybe a bigger, long term car park further away?

Thanks for the reply. Yes we saw the area you are describing but could only see signs for taxi and bus so went round the loop again and that's when we went into car park, passengers got out, grabbed suitcases and went. Was only there 2 minutes. Hope I dont get a fine

So should be ok to pick up 2 passengers at taxi/bus/drop off point in 3 weeks time. Was thinking can park in nearby supermarket, wait for text/call from them and then go straight to pick them up. Is that feasible?

Nearby supermarket??? eh, they seem to build something every day round there! LOL. Don't know of one but most nearby residential roads to the south are unrestricted I think. or just across the Connaught bridge to the north you could sit in the Fox pub to wait - private car park ( I think it has one - don't use the hotel ones) but should be safe as a customer.

    On the small loop road.

    First < car park
    second < taxi rank

lastly road continues round to left. buses stop on the left. What I'm fairly sure is the drop off/pick up(?) is a longish lay by on the right, opposite where buses stop and nearest to the runway/apron/ fence.

Bear in mind that in all probability any parking enforcement there will be private not Council (not 100% sure). If you get a ppc ticket then don't contact and come back for advice.

Didnt get a fine in the end (well it's been nearly 3 weeks now and would have got it by now wouldnt I  ).
Anyway, can anyone confirm if the pick up point is as described above please.

why dont you go a bit early and have a no pressure nosey for yourself because ive been there a few times to pick up drop off signs are fairly good and clear without making a mess. I cannot even begin to imagine how to give you advice when you maybe 30 yards or 300 yards off track
