Right. i trying you use pc speakers with an acer laptop. but the sound is reallly distort. i changed the speaker setting to 'Desktop stereo speakers'.
There is only one place to plug the speakers in, and its for headphones.
i was wondering if it was because it is plugged into the headphone socket, but there is no other place to plug them in.
Any help would be greatly appriciated! :j
Oh yeah, its running on XP.

Is the sound distorted if you use headphones in the same socket?
Have you tried turning the volume down using the volume control (bottom right). Are you using media player, or any player with EQ settings?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Hi
Do you have a soundcard? Have a good look at your laptop, and look for a line in port, this is where your speakers plug into.
Hope this helps0 -

Line out rather than line in. These aren't common on laptops. My Acer doesn't have one.0 -
