A mate of mine has just been quoted £500 for this.
My beat up old mini dont cost anything like that is it about right?

Diesel @ Droitwich Landrover was about £350 but they managed to knock it up to £600 by finding a couple of faults. My "slave" went with the clutch last week. They quoted part @ £160 +vat plus minimum of 6hrs labour @ £80 + vat to fix. Needless to say, took it to a local man who fitted the genuine Landrover part for £200.

My advice, don't go to the dealer!!!

Make sure they carry out a coolant change & use the premium anti-freeze, unless recently done.

You're nearing the 40,000 mile head gasket failure, mileage, on these engines, so best do anything you can to help prevent this.

It goes in tmoro so i will have a chat with them about the head gasket problem, i honestly thought they had sorted it on the newer engines.
