Iron not working correctly

A year or two ago, I bought a lovely iron for around £50, it's great except lately it doesn't blast the steam out like it used to.
I wondered if you'd experienced this... Do you think the iron needs descaling or something?
If so, do you know how I might do this? Any tips or tricks?
Hope to hear from you
kind regards
Alex

Depends on the type of iron. If you post up the details, make, model etc perhaps the operating instructions are available online. It may have a decalcing setting on the iron where you fill the iron with water, leave the iron on then set it at it's highest setting, but also set iron to the decalcing setting and just let the steam/sediment etc come out of the iron over the sink. It is usually recommended that this is done once a fortnight so if you haven't done it for a year then you may have to do it a couple of times before the iron is probably decalced.
Once you have thoroughly descaled it etc, then run the iron over an old item of clothing or old piece of cotton etc with steam setting on so that no brown marking from water etc comes out or sediment etc.

Once a fortnight - golly! Ok, well, thanks for your reply, it's a Rowenta Surfline 1600, I'll google it.0

Here is the Rowenta website

You should be able to get the appropriate info on there. Checked for the instructions but none listed so just go into Q&As and you should get info on there for your iron.
