It's correct. They are legally entitled to charge £10 to send your statements.0

Seems reasonable to me for the admin effort involved. They don't charge you for the originals do they, why should they shoulder the cost for replacements if you've lost them?0

I asked for 6 years of mine and enclosed a chq for £10 which they didn't cash and destroyed. hats off to first direct !0

Hsbc sent my cheque back, and said it was ok, they'd send the statements and they did, I did my reclaim about £230, not as much as some but better than nothing.0 -
I got mine from A & L and they sent them all in separate envelopes, so the £10 would cover the postage, envelopes etc0

I totally agree that £10 is more than reasonable given the overhead involved in employing someone to locate on their archive systems etc and get sent out.
1 stamp (well, heavily reduced Frank) and 1 envelope would be sufficient. If they're stupid enough to send them in their own envelope thats their own look out! :rotfl:0 -

Hi, Any help would be appreciated. I also sent a cheque to Natwest in order to get a my credit card statements in order to reclaim. However, they returned the cheque with a letter and a piece of paper with a grid type table with amount as to charges but NO statements! Is this correct or should they have provided the full statements?0

@Natwest - out of interest, do you happen to know how easy it is for the banks to produce / send out backdated statements?
Just personally interested if its a PITA or not! I dont have squat to do with our credit dept, but if this sort of request came in for x years of statements it coule potentially be a royal pain depending on how far they needed to go back! (not a bank btw)0
