Criminal Compliance -How long?

Hi everyone
I would be grateful for some advice, I will keep a very very long story short.
Ex-husband managed to get a Nil rating over two years ago by claiming to be living on saving. The complex case team were amazing, lots of phone call to me and regular updates (if only to tell me the same thing!) However, ex-husband started working again in the summer, the complex case team felt that he had been lying about his savings and were unhappy that he was not declaring working again, so passed the case to criminal compliance. This is were it all seems to have stopped. No-one will tell me anything on the phone and I am told that the criminal case is being built against ex and that is more important than chasing money for my daughter.
So how long will this all go on? It bad enough that I don't have any child support for, now. over two years! What also makes me angry is that he still has regular visits from our daughter and it costs me quite a bit in petrol to ensure he sees her, yet I get no financial help!

    No-one :confused::(

I notice a lot of people mentioning writing to their MP, is it worth it considering where my case is??

  • Hi

I sometimes think that queries from the parent with care count for nothing.
I've been writing to the CSA since July, as my ex is working 40+ hours a week yet declares that he works 12.

Some weeks I've had 11p a week from CSA for my four children. In September I wrote to them telling them to stop collecting money from my ex as it winds me up so! Not had a reply to that either. Sent yet another reminder off yesterday and in two weeks I'll be contacting my MP.

I too make sure that my children see my ex when he is willing to see them, so that when they grow up they can't point a finger of blame my way. You're brilliant making sure your daughter sees him, but I understand your frustration.

    No advice otherwise, sorry.

Thanks for the reply, its just winding me up a bit!! Its hard keeping the contact and the money seperate in my head, and most of the time I do, but putting £30 worth of petrol in my car to drive dd to see her dad, then seeing him clearly not struggling for money is just sooo annoying!

why do you bother doing the driving then?

just to add and to quote

    1. - '' criminal case is being built against ex''
    this takes time

    2. - ''and that is more important than chasing money for my daughter''
that is what they are doing.

p.s. she is not your daughter alone, why dont you say 'our daughter' ?
    just a query

The Criminal Compliance will not divulge any information to you about the case.

I would let him pick up and drop off your daughter.

I agree, but does that mean the claim for child support from his current job stops to?

It feels as though the criminal case for suspected fraud, is taking priorty over seeking to get money out of him for current employment.

I do refer to her as our daughter when discussing contact, maybe putting my daughter was a way of showing I was PWC, thats all.

Court ordered contact says I have to drive half way. Just to point out he only got court order to flex his muscles, I had never questioned contact and in fact the Judge felt I had been too generous and was driving too far to ensure contact, and actually reduced his contact and my drive as it was unfair to me.

ETA, I am aware that as contact and child support are seen as different things in court, to stop driving her there would be frowned on by the court and I just don't have the stomach for another 20K to lawyers to sort it out :(

I realise they can't discuss the case, however I was told that it would take around 6 months to build case and this was back in june! Just wondered if this was normal length of time.

The courts will very rarely order you to share the travel unless you moved away. Is this the case ?
