Hi I put a cliam in for IB in Sept 2007 but was told i did`nt have enough NI contributions to get it so i was put on IS at £60.50p which i am still getting now.
A friend of mine has told me that i should be getting more than that is he right or am i getting the right ammount of benefit.

Dear Bampy Jim,
If you are renting you may be eligible for housing benefit, if you own, you may get some interest on your mortgage after some time ie. 37 weeks, so if that's the case, apply toute suite because its hard to back date it (although they will accept that in some circumstances).
Your sick partner may be eligible for disability living allowance, even if she is expecting to get better. Its in two parts, for mobility and care, and includes such areas as both physical and mental limitations in daily living. It could help and its not taxed, or means tested, so does not mess up other benefits.
I would strongly recommend you go to a good advice centre, take all your info with you, and check what you are getting. Its hard to advise without being a specialist because the rules are complex, and changing all the time.
Good luck

Are you answering a different question?
OP, are you in receipt of DLA or do you have any dependents?Gone ... or have I?0 -
I believe that after a period (not sure how long) Income Support should rise to around £90.0
-
after 1 year it goes up as you would then recieve the disability premium0
-
You receive a disability premium if you have been in receipt of IS for more than 52 weeks0
