The 'a plane never crashed into the Pentagon' is probably the most stupid conspiracy theory of them all. Not to mention a tad disrespectful to the hundreds that died in the incident.0 -

You might be mistaken for a local
Nah, they wear silly stripey Jackets and will turn anything for a 'pip''In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -
who is terrified?
Not me. Maybe a tad concerned for my present work but i am very hopeful that new oportunities may occur. I am hoping that over exposed peeps will have to start getting rid of their assets at fire sale prices. This could shift wealth from the baby boomers with the big houses and multi btl towards the younger generations. Cut down some dead wood and allow some fresh growth...(i am gardener by the way!)0 -
I am not terrified, in fact I have panic fatigueThe World come on.....0

She and others like-minded are the ones who are going to need the biggest reality check and a move into personally sustainable lifestyles.
Pity Brown and Darling haven't caught on to the wisdom of paying back debt instead of actively encouraging us to go out and spend more.
Whatever lies ahead, Brits are now really running out of patience with them. So they didn't think it necessary to investigate the extent of toxic debt before pumping our money into banks and now they continue with a reckless betrayal of this and future generations of taxpayer.
Shame on them.
To get back to the OP's question - I'm not terrified, there's no point really. I believe life will go on and we'll have to adjust to the changes. If it means an end to shallow and unaffordably extravagant lifestyles, then tough. We'll just have to get used to it.
We need real change for the future. Maybe this will become an opportunity for a better society to rise from the ashes. We can only hope for a new and stronger political leadership with the insight, will and the guts to help us achieve it.0 -
I sometimes wonder how Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling feel.0

who is terrified? Not for their job?
Funny. No one seems particularly terrified, we are all so much better off than Somalia, etc. and we won't get the plague and die.
Well sorry guys to dissent.. but I am very scared.. and not for anything so grand as the economy, or the UK, or industry or Somalia - but - purely and simply - for MY JOB, my income, my house, my immediate dependents. Without income, I mean a real income, not savings or social security (whatever its called nowadays) I, and more importantly my immediate family, are fokking fokk.
So in the face of a real, not imagined, recession, with UK forecast to be the worst placed of ALL countries - yes I am freely admitting to being scared.
Sorry about that. Yeah, I know - it's all about me - well come on, be honest - isn't it for most people.0 -
Could be worse we could be in the Euro  Now that would be fokking fokk
