Norton/Symantec LiveUpdate won't conntect..

I recently installed a new modem/router - Lynksys N Ultra Plus WAG160N - and I now find that my Norton/Symantec LiveUpdate facility won't connect. When I activate the LiveUpdate, I get the normal "Initializing....connecting to liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com..." but there it stops, with no connection evidently being made. I have to reboot the computer to get rid of it (and without any update in the process, obviously).

Grateful any advice on this.

Thanks.

    Follow the advice given here.

Many thanks. Did that, downloaded the LiveUpdate file, rebooted, but makes no difference. Still stuck on the message quoted above. One other thing I didn't mention: when in this 'stuck' status, won't respond to 'Cancel', either.
  • Update:

I went to Norton's online chat/helpline. The guy advised my Update file was corrupted and he fixed the problem, himself, working from his end. Update now running again. I'm very impressed with the service.
