Halifax One CARD - Credit Limits

Thinking of applying for this card to do balance transfer (12 months 0% - but with transfer fee). Does anyone have information as to how generous Halifax are in setting credit limits

Thanks in advance

My halifax one card limit is about in the middle of my range of limits.
  • I got £8,200 today. Better than last weeks LTSB @ £6,000. A decent limit I think.

  • Hi

Initially received 9k, but now after a year have 14k, but only use for the cashback and pay in full monthly. Not sure what the max credit is though? I am always getting offers through the post too. Only last week was offered 3.9% LOB with £50 capped fee.

Dont really want to BT to this card as I use it all the time for the cashback, so will BT from my Skycard to Plat BC for 2.9% LOB with £50 capped fee I was offered last week.

  • I have just upgraded my halifax platium card to this halifax one card and they transfered my credit limit over which is £10750 of which 90% is now b/t into my egg money a/c for 12 months but they did charge me £50 fee
  • if you apply in branch the BT fee is capped at £50, but if you apply on net or phone it is uncapped

I've just looked on the Halifax web site it states that BT's are 2% min £2 Max £50 doesn't mention any other conditions.

I don't know about phone applications, but your statement about online applications is totally incorrect.

The fee is 'up to 2%', ie transfer £2,500 and it's 2%, but transfer £5,000 and the fee is effectively 1% due to the cap.

  • actually I know it was online, but wasn't so sure about the phone applications
