Thanks for all the replies - my son's quite interested now too!
The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

Caroln - I am a regular checker for Cinecheck. You will find that most cinemas now have a regular checker so you are unlikely to be contacted unless the checker goes sick or is away on holiday. I know that at the cinema I check there is also a back up checker who covers me when I am away.
  • Word of warning. The cinemas have regular checkers so there is little chance of getting any work unless the regular checker leaves. It is hard work for very little return if you live near a multiplex. I'm lucky because mine is only 8 screens.
  • Not all cinema's have regular checkers, places where there is only the one or maybe two cinema's do tend to have regulars but that still leaves a lot of places with jobs available for most checks, London is a good example, there are always quite a few to be had there. If there is an assignment coming up, the e-mail for the remaining cinema's goes out to everyone in the area where a checker is needed, this is usually sent out on a Wednesday, so check the link I put above and get in there quick if you see a venue you would like.

I received an email from these guys earlier today and I emailed back, not heard anything yet.
  • Not a surprise really as the checks were getting less and less. Heard on grapevine that TNS, parent co. is diversifying so this doesn't fit into they portfolio now. No buyer, just closing the operation down as of end of March.

Have just heard from my allocator that TNS are closing Cinecheck down, shame as I enjoyed the jobs I've done for them.

    Who is your Allocator ?

My allocator told me that they had been asked to let all their checkers know. The checkers have all been told with full knowledge of Cinecheck. It's not a secret.
