About to inherit £10k. Where do we put it...

We are about to inherit £10k and are not sure where to place it. We are not intending to save it long term as we are doing some renovation work in the house and will require access to some of it, but it would be nice to get a little bit of interest.
What would be the best place to save it?
Many thanks moneysavers

Use your cash ISA allowances first (£3,600 each) as this is tax free, and then put the rest in instant access savings if you need access to it.
