Also, log in to your router's configuration screens. What does it say for Internet Status (on top right-hand corner)?0 -
Yep, I'm ok on the disabling it from the laptop part.
I can't get as far as logging in to the configuration screens - as soon as I plug the router in - I can't get broadband. The manual they have provided shows the screens I should see - but I cant get that far!0 -
So if you click here ---> http://192.168.2.1 (no password) you can't see the router?
Even without a broadband connection you should be able to see the router's screens.0 -
nope, get redirected to Dell search page!0
-
Try typing 192.168.2.1 (no http://) in the Internet Explorer address bar and pressing return.0

same thing happens!0

If I am on using the internet through my BT modem, I can use the internet no probs but can't do the 192. thingey - I just get a search engine.
If I am trying to work with the router - I cannot get a broadband connection.
Its madness - whatever happened to plug and play??!!0 -
Open Network Connections (see first para of post #11) right-click Local Area Connection and click Properties. On the General tab, in the Connection uses box, double-click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and select 'Obtain an IP address automatically' and click OK all the way out.0
