Hi all, I'm thinking about getting setanta but I have seen the posts about not being able to cancel it!?
Is it worth bothering, I already have sky sports!?
Thanks in advance.

Seriously though, their coverage/presentation is dire (especially when we are used to the sleek Sky or BBC) and the cost is a rip off. They want to tie you in and are not very keen to help you leave them.0

I subscribed online on a pay-monthly no-contract service. Canceling was as simple as am email at 10pm at night, with an almost instantaneous reply stating that they would terminate my subscription at the end of the month so I got the full use of the service0

if you have sky sport and also have setanta you will be glued exclusively
to the box.
It isnt worth the money and yes, there is problems in cancellingmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Does anyone else get this? sometimes it lets me view Setanta sports is it just free days they offer or something? Hate sport anyway so its not very useful LOL0

Setanta do have free days.
They also broadcast in the clear for a while during the build-up to a match or event, so you might then decide you want to subscribe when it then encrypts.
If you have VM cable, then on the XL package Setanta comes included.
As for coverage / presentation, I only watch the actual game, not bothered about all the other crap around it.
What does let Setanta down, and it doesn't matter if you are watching via satellite, DTT or cable, the picture quality is poor, due to being over compressed. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Picture quality is a bit poor and I've read about the problems with cancelling. Was going to cancel mine soon simply to save costs.
It's pretty good value though really - a tenner for prem games, boxing, england games, etc. It depends how much you'd watch it.matched betting: £879.63

We got it as part of the Virgin XL package. I don't watch it much as the picture quality is poor and the presentation is worse. It's handy when they are showing a Villa game but I wouldn't pay for it. We only got the XL package as part of a retention deal or else we wouldn't have that. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -

Same here, on XL due to retention, yes handy for watching a Villa game, also for boxing and a few other events, but not watched enough that if I had to pay for it I would. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc...
