Hello
Have Lloyds and Halifax fully merged yet?
I have a balance on my Llloyds card and have recieved a 6.95% life of balance, balance transfer offer from Halifax.
I was wondering if it is OK to transfer the balances or whether Halifax will decline it? There is nowhere on my statement saying one way or the other (As is always started on my Virgin and MBNA statements, as I have both of those too)
Thanks

That's a good question. I think you will still be able to transfer between the two.0

Today, I asked Lloyds if having a Halifax card prevented me from getting a card from them and was told not. I suspect they haven't finished merging internally yet - these things usually take months.
But, you can always phone them and ask.0 -
Just to confirm, yes we have fully merged and more information can be found at the Lloyds Banking Group site. I hope this is of use:http://www.lloydsbankinggroup.com/investors/acquisition/faqs.asp?WT.ac=MHPAQ.

Hi Neil,
Does that mean I was given bad advice on the phone yesterday? (See the post above yours)
Cheers,

As far as I can tell you can still transfer accounts between Lloyds and Halifax.
Whilst it is true legally that they are one company, both banks systems are miles apart when it comes to processes of which credit cards are one.
It will be some time before they are seen to be one bank.0 -
Hi Paul
Just to answer your question, the acquisition of HBOS is now complete. However our services are still in the process of being fully aligned. Customer relationships and good service remain our top priority. In addition, we will be updating the new website with further information in the coming weeks, so do please keep checking back there.

The current situation for Halifax customers is at http://www.halifax.co.uk/HelpCentre/hbosinfo.asp?!!!!!HOME1
For Lloyds TSB customers take a look at http://www.lloydstsb.com/merger/your_freq_asked_questions.asp?WT.ac=%20LBGSPECQLINK
At the moment Halifax is a division of Bank of Scotland plc and Lloyds TSB is Lloyds TSB Bank plc. At the time of the takeover they were completely separate companies. As time goes on that will change. It looks like it might take about 3 years though.0 -
