TomTom's are pretty good and are quite intuitive to use, look at Halfords and some of the online sites for best price I am using a TomTom one XL europe, the widescreen makes it easier to enter postcodes. This is my second TomTom and have had no problems with them.0

Garmin Nuvi 250 is a simple, straightforward Sat Nav with full European mapping. As it's just been superceded you can get it for £80 You can also get the wide screen one at Amazon for £100 and the replacement Nuvi 255 is £110.
I've got a Nuvi 250 and it's great.
You won't go far wrong with a Tom Tom One or a Nuvi 250/255 though.
I think the Nuvi's have slightly wider European coverage than the Tom Toms as they include parts of Eastern Europe as well.

I use a RAC 215E in the UK and (mostly) Europe (France - Brittany thru Normandy/Picardie - Belgium and Holland). In that context, I've found it extremely good, never let me down on door-to-door navigation. Having said that, when I read the RAC blogsite, there are people who complain about it but, as I say, my experience has been good.
I bought it a year ago from Amazon and paid £125 which, then at least, was a very competitive price for street-level European mapping (and with a 4.3" screen). A quick look now, I see you can get them for as low as £100, but I think there may be a newer model out, the 315E, but I'm not sure.
Anyway, and particularly taking into account the price, I've been very satisfied with mine.0 -
Amazon seem to come up with the best prices on sat. navs
My vote goes to the Garmin Nuvi 250 or 255. Widescreen does make it easy to enter addresses, you can get numbers and letters on screen at the same time. On my older Nuvi 310D I have to press an on screen button to switch between letters and numbers mode. The Nuvi 765T we got for my wife recently is wide screen and much easier.0 -
I have a TomTom V3 Europe and never had a problem with it. We travel regularly to Europe (mainly Netherlands, Germany and last year in France)
Wouldnt' be without it now, I'm sure its saved my marriage :rotfl:0
