speeding refund

I got home from work tonight to a very welcome and unexpected surprise, a letter from the Cheshire police telling me that
'On Monday 15 December 2008 Cheshire police discovered that the traffic order obtained by the highway agency had lapsed on April 8th 2008. As a result there was no power to restrict the speed of the traffic from 70 miles per hour to 40 mph on that part of the A5117 after April 8th. Therefore Cheshire constabulary are not satisfied that any speeding offence committed between April 9th and December 17th 2008 can safely be progressed.'
So they are going to refund my £60 fixed penalty notice and remove the 3 points from my licence.:T
That will ding dang do for me

I wonder how they will compensate people who lost their licences and/or jobs as a result of their ineptitude?0

That's the bit we never hear about, as the consequential loss could run into thousands or more if loss of job and repossession is involved. most likely the Babylon will make the victim of the scamera sign a gagging order not to reveal the amount they paid out in compensation.0
