I had one last night, telling me about some wonderful property survey. I did some random laughing at their questions, and then just kepy saying "no, no, no, no , no" very slowly and regularly. It worked quite well.Happy chappy0

Caller Display ('Withheld' is a good indication it's going to be a time-waster) and a 'phone with a 'Music On Hold' button works for me.
The Caller Display is free (thank you BT) and the 'phone cost me less than £10 on ebay (I wanted an LST anyway and the MOH feature was a bonus). The MOH is really just a few repeated - and very annoying - notes but it does the trick. They never seem to be there when I go back after 5 minutes!Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
I do that with the door-steppers (TPS has stopped most of the phoners).claire23 wrote:Most of them (kitchens, windows, conservatries etc) you can get rid of by simply saying "i'm just the tenant".
OMG - we may have started the BTL boom! When they all meet up in the pub, can just imagine it "I'm getting out of the door-to-door and buying a few houses, there's a hell of a rental market round here".0 -
