Does anyone know if you can set up a parental control on an account for a child to prevent them accessing inappropriate sites?
Thanks

Hiya,
Firefox currently does not have any parental controls built into it so you can no block inappropriate content on web pages from within the browser itself.
There is a Firefox Extension available that will allow blocking of some website content but I haven't tried it so I can't speak from experience how good it is. You can find it from:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Parental_controls
There is also another page (http://www.spreadfirefox.com/node/5056) which suggests some of the 3rd party software which you can use.
It seems like it is something that has been suggested and hopefully they will build it into a future release.

May be better to look at parental control software rather than browsers plug-in? Obviously if you install a firefox parental control app it is not going to filter Internet Explorer and any other browser the child downloads.2 heads are better than 1….unless they are on the same body!0
