forgotten password

My dd has forgotten the password for her laptop - fortunately she made an account for me so can still use the laptop but she would like to use her own (administrator) account. Might be a silly question but...is there any way round this? It is a Toshiba laptop using Vista Home Premium.

Any advice appreciated.

There is a bootable CD available OPH crack or somthing that is what I have writen on mine that has software that investigates a system finds the user accounts and will give you the passwords to them.

I'm not sure about Vista but if your account is also an administrator level account you may be able to set a new password in the appropriate control panel. You could certainly do this in XP...

I'm trying to download OPH crack but I'm not sure what's happening at the moment. On the page tab is says: SourceForge.net:ophcrack:Downloading...
- does this mean it's still downloading? How long does this take? It just doesn't seem to be doing anything so I'm not sure if it's working.

The CD version is a large file 538MB so it could take a while with a slow connection, 35 mins or so with a 2Mb connection

Did the save box come up? otherwise its not downloading close it and try again. Click direct link or choose a different mirror if its still not working.

Yes, the save box did come up - took about 35 mins - then went off. Does that mean its working?

Might of finished downloading? have a look where you saved it.

Thanks for that Thomas - I've found it. Just got to create a disc with Toshiba Disc Creator now. Fingers crossed !
