Sometime during November 2008 i recieved a letter stating that due to a meter fault my pre-payment meter would change to a credit meter unless i topped my card up and inserted it into my meter. Weighing up my options i decided that i would go for the credit meter option and did nothing as advised.
This morning i recieved a letter stating the same enclosing a new pre payment card in case i wanted to revert back to my former pre payment meter. It also states that i would be recieving a bill soon for gas supplied on the credit meter from 1st Dec 2008. I want to be one step ahead so phoned them for the cost of the bill which was due. I nearly fell on the floor when i was informed it was £209.71 ! I then asked when the bill was from and was bombarded with dates etc and told that the bill was taken from my last meter reading which at the time the meter was still pre-payment to the one which i gave the guy over the phone during this call. All in all i was informed i had used about 600 units of gas since the last reading sometime in november. Surely as they have stated that they are going to bill me from the 1st of December they have to bill me from that date only ???
I really don't understand where they are coming from has anyone else had this problem ????
