29p@? wow, I had no idea it had gone up that much. I was fully veggie until I had my DD 9 months ago then started eating fish... thought tuna seemed more expensive than I expected!

I like the Waitrose deal at the mo and have stocked up too, mainly because it includes the "springwater" option in the deal. I've seen similar deals at other supermarkets but only with the brine and sunflower option. Don't fancy extra salt or fat thankyou!

I stocked up on 6 tins of Yellowfin tuna in spring water on sale (according to sel) at my local Sainsbury's (Cheshire) today for 55p each (200g tin). No idea if this is nationwide.
  • Morrisons Tuna 55p. (IMO, tastes a lot better than the Tesco Tuna also 55p).;)
  • yes the asda and tesco value were at 29p

I used to buy the tinned mackeral fillets, they were boneless, in tomatoe, brine of oil, and it used to be 3 for a £1 which wa sa bargain. They are like, 60p for one now

Tuna is just so expensive now, it used to be a real econimical bbing food now its kinda not as much

99p store - 3 or 4 tins in a cellophane wrapper. Can't remember exact number, but a bargain either way and change from a squid. :D

Thanks for this I'll check it out at the weekend :)

one stop has a good deal on tuna at the moment but I can't remember what it was, also tinned toms a quality brand 4 pack that works out only a few pence more then value ones. one stop is a place most people forget to look for bargains in but is worth a look now and again you'll be surprised!!
  • never heard of a 99p store! LOL

JoJo, check the ingredients for the John West tuna in springwater - I used to buy it but then happened to have a look at the ingredients & was shocked to see there is salt in it!!
As regards the original post, I bought 4 185g tins of John West tuna chunks in brine for £2.29 at Netto today. Also had the sunflower oil.
