having worked in credit card sales for a few years im sory to tell you this would be fraud and is therefore illegal

If you did that the information on the application form would not be the same as on your credit file so you would be rejected.
Unless you told them you only moved to your mums very recently in which case the application would be assesed on your "previous" address.
On the internet you can be anything you want. It`s strange so many people choose to be rude and stupid.

...and the 'discrepancy' may be reported to a fraud prevention agency, especially if the new address was in between other credit applications at the current 'actual' address.

OP, you're going to have ID verification issues if you apply from an address where you are not on the electoral roll.

    OK thanks y/boy :)
  • Merely reiterating what others have said. It's only common sense. If you apply for ANY credit - loan/overdraft/catalogue/card etc - from an address that is not yours. It's fraud. This also begs another question. In your first post, you wanted to apply for credit using your parents address? There may be legitimate reasons. But, my first impression would be: why not use your current address? Either way, reasons aside, it would get rejected by any company you apply to.
Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.
