No, the gas supplier won't be interested.
Contact a Corgi registered engineer if you want the gas appliances checked out. Make sure he's qualified to work on domestic appliances and domestic supply/installation too if you want him to check that too. (Corgi registartion comes in many parts) You might want to check hes qualified to work on meters too if you want that checked.
Get a registered electrician to check out electrical installation and appliances if deemed necessary."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Hi,
I'm in the same position as yourselves about to move into repo at the end of the month.
I don't know if it helps but I registered on https://www.iammoving.com and used there energy switching service just out of interest, they contacted me and I told them what was happening and she had access to the previous suppliers. She also told me that a letter of confirmation was needed to prove that we were moving in and were different owners sending to the 2 existing companies before we could be reconnected due to the money still owned in bills. It would then take 28 days to switch to the energy company of your choice from the exisitng suppliers on the repo property.
Also i think BT want £130 to reconnect the phone line so that my next hurdle !
Hope this helps and good luck.0 -
Mez1974, who does the letter need to be from?
Thank you all so much, this is just the kind of help I needed, I'm sure I would have approached this in completely the wrong way otherwise.
I love this website!0 -
The lady from iamoving said from the solicitors but im not sure to be honest, ive not made the call myself yet as I'm still waiting to exchange any day now.
Maybe the contract of sale from the estate agents maybe enough.0 -
