again being one of the people who have never had a problem except for once, which was the fault of the delivery company, i would recommend them.
there have been horror stories but not as many as you are led to beleive... there seems to be a fair amount of people on this site wanting to bad mouth them, everytime something gets posted there are instantly 3 people telling you not to go there.... obviously through bad experiance.
they have now moved distrobution from sheffield to howden and i beleive have added telephone customer service support.... maybe time to give them another chance0 -

Agree with all the points above regarding risks. Basically you have to be prepared for:-
a) it not being as cheap as it seems - prices are plus VAT and postage
b) They employ people in despatch that are under so much pressure that mistakes are common
c) If it goes wrong YOU pay the post back unless you protest
d) Protesting most often goes on deaf ears due to poor replies to mails ( e notes) they seem to deliberately miss the point - again probably due to pressure of work.
I have experienced all of these things over the past few years. Basically they are the Ryanair of the on line shopping. Acceptable if it goes well ( and usually it does) but horrendous if it goes wrong ( as is does all too often )
Try https://www.dabs.co.uk they are often as cheap if not cheaper and are far more human.qui tacet consentire -

Oh - and refunds can take weeks. I bought some laptops from them. One was dead on arrival. It took six weeks for me to get a full refund. Meanwhile they were sitting on a lot of my money.qui tacet consentire -

Never use Ebuyer before can anyone give me any background on them ?0

Hi
I've use Ebuyer loads of times and had no issues even dealing with a faulty router which they refunded me.
As with all companies some offers are better than others, but some of their clearance items are very cheap!!
They respond to emails and you have to follow their procedures, dont expect to be able to ring them up and speak to someone quickly.

Another thumbs up for Ebuyer from me too. Been using them for two years and never had a problem. Sent back a digital camera in the summer that I wasn't happy with, got a full refund within a week. I'd read all the horror stories too and was expecting a nightmare with the return, but it couldn't have gone smoother.
As with all opinions of companies on forums, we all read the !!!!-ups but how many satisfied customers do they have?
I'd recommend them from my own experiences.0 -
I'm a satisfied customer who has used Ebuyer about a dozen times in the past two or three years. I'm not disputing people's bad experiences with them but I thought I'd tell the other side of the story.0

I have used ebuyer 3 times in the last 18 months. All were not very good experiences. Firstly, I bought a dvd recorder from them. It arrived 4 days late, and when it arrived I found out it was 'used' (scratched / no instructions etc) and did not work. I emailed them that evening (by their e-note system). It took them 2 weeks to respond. It then took another week for them to pick it up. They then said that they would send another out (although by this time I noticed that they were out of stock). I sent about 15 e-notes requesting a refund, and not a replacement. They seemed to ignore each of these, as they kept on saying they would send a replacement. Eventually they confirmed that they would process a refund. I then waited over 5 weeks before they processed the refund to my card. I needed the money back on my card (which, incidentally, they took a couple of hours after I placed the order!!) to buy another product, but in the end, it was not before I wrote to all of their directors - threatening court action, that they finally refunded my money.
My company has used them twice to get products to me. Once it was a scanner (which I urgently needed due to a failure). My company paid the next day delivery surcharge. However, it took 5 days to arrive. They were slow in refunding (only part of the) delivery charge.
The other item was a piece of (low value) software. It arrived about 9 days late.
I would strongly advise that you only use them for non-urgent, low-value items (that you are not bothered when you will receive), and always check that they are cheapest (including delivery charges).0 -
