I've ben following LLoyds shrares this morning. They wre down from opening at 68p to 34p and looked like they were going down to RBS depths.
Now they've climbed back to 50p and still climbing. Who bought in and has made some money?

Its the shorters that have made the most gains.
I averaged down yesterday and have no more to put in so I'm sitting on an average of £1.04 with quite a hefty loss.
How the FSA and Gordon in the brown stuff can sit around and anot re-instate the shorting ban is beyond me.
Yes the SP was volatile whilst the ban was in place, however, I think Lloyds lost something like 60% in 3 months from October. The shorters justified the lifting of the ban by saying that it wasn't down to them. Well at one point this morning the SP had tumbled 65% since FRIDAYS CLOSE. The shorting ban has only been back in 2 and a half days and they have already ripped apart Barclays (Friday), Lloyds (since Friday) and to some extent RBS (though some of this will be down to the governments news).
There was been nothing but decent to good news since Thursday for Lloyds, certainly nothing to justify the destruction that Lloyds has seen and unfortunately its the hedge funds making huge amounts whilst poor private investors practically lose everything. I know I'm probably on the lower scale of losses in terms of PI's as I would expect others to lose more but even I feel incredibly badly let down by the sheer incompetence of Brown, Darling and the FSA.
Whilst one of the biggest banks in the UK takes a pounding, their silence is deafening.0 -

Nothing Brown and his cronies do surprises me - disgusts me? yes - but surprises, no.
History will not remember him kindly.0
