There are some lovely tea cups in john lewis with hippos on...they are lovely.
Or book tokens (I always want those!)
But what I would most like is a bloody steak with nice potatoes and peas.
Yum! (I have been told this what I am getting and I am very pleased! Home made and full of love!) :dance:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

I agree it is the florists and card makers that make the most of money out of it. One reason why we keep the budget to between £5-£10 and we make are cards to each other.
But husband knows the sort of things I like. helps when I go to the shop with him put the stuff in the basket and he pays. :rotfl:

If you can't manage the country retreat - you could do your own pamper evening at home.
Buy her some really luxurious bubble bath - run the bath for her - and place candles and a glass of bubbly for her.
While she is soaking make her a candlelit dinner, with music
Just a relaxing night when she doesn't have to lift a finger works wonders.
(so don't forget to tidy up the kitchen and do the washing up after !!!!!)0 -
on valentines day it is 17yrs since my husband first asked me out on a date in a nightclub! so i think the last 16 years of money on cards and flowers is quite enough and i think i'm going to tell him not to bother this time and i will not bother either i'd rather spend the money on our children! (aged 2 and 4!)
i might get the girls to make him a card!
hope everybody has a lovely day though we used to take the day off work and go out to chinese restaurant for dinner and a drink in the afternoon that was nice! or go for chinese meal at night and then to bars and a club!
i might get us a chinese takeaway with the girls this time!!!0 -

Well some attention would be nice and maybe if he can manage it a smile.
I like the idea of pampering for a day and could return that for him in the evening (only if he is nice).
Pampering hours
Mine 8am - 5pm
Him 5pm - I fall asleep. Its better to be late in this life than early in the next one.

Oh bought me some roses last weekend...which was very sweet of him. Don't know what he'll think of my response....nothing brought out of the freezer for tea tonight (but that's another story).
One year we went on holiday around valentines, usually I end up with flowers (which I do love very much). All I really want is a kiss and a cuddle.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
