                    I really am beginning to feel persecuted now:D Declared BR Nov 08 - british gas then wrote to me closing my account due to bankruptcy despite me not owing them any money - apparently this was a new thing:rotfl:
Now, I'm still waiting for my CB and Tax Credits to be put back in payment. CB head office apparently need to phone me to talk to me about my claim before my back payments can be issued............. this is despite me claiming CB since I was 17 without a break!
My TC claim has gone to the compliance team - they want all sorts of info - child's birth certificate, childs school attendance details, confirmation child is registered at a GP etc etc
I'm sure they think I've sold him to try and clear my debts:rolleyes:

 I've heard of the BG problem, but never any problems with child benefit or tax credits. Why did they stop paying them in the first place?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

            I've never had any problems with my CHB even when it stopped temporarily when I changed banks - they paid the back payments immediately.

            All my payments had to be put on hold while I sorted out a new bank account - in theory they should all have just continued once I told them my new bank details.... just wondering why I'm having problems and if this happened to anyone else??0

            That is very peculiar, mine were put on hold and paid as soon as I told them my new details.

            Hi Brightonbelle. I'm confused why BG would close your account. Does this mean your gas has been cut off then? What have utilities got to do with BR?0

 I know, that's what confused me - I didn't owe any utilities when I went BR but BG still closed my account. I assume it was because I paid quarterly and they didn't want me to run up a bill. I now pay an agreed amount by card every fortnight so I still have an account with BG and still get gas:rotfl:0

 I have had BIG issues with child tax credits and still am but slightly different to yours - in approx aug last year I requested they stopped paying into my bank and I had requested giro payments - all seemed ok then i kept getting it paid into my bank and i kept phoning them and writing to them. The odd thing was when I spoke to them they were always like 'oh your bank details have been deleted so it cant be going into your bank???' well it is!!!! then now I am br they are still paying it in and flipped my lid with them last week as I now have £8 left for the rest of the month (family of 4) and they are saying 'oh it is going through the process of stopping bank payments' WHAT 6 MONTHS! 'I cant guarentee that we can stop it but will put ANOTHER note on the system' - absolutely tearing my hair out with them.
 had no probs YET with the others but not with BG so fingers crossed all will be okBR 9th Jan 2009 - Discharged 9th Jan 2010

            Still waiting for my telephone call from CB head office - apparently they had 72 hours to contact me ................... 4hours 20mins left and counting..........
 I'll let you know what the problem was when I find out 0 0

            As soon as i got my new bank details (5 days after br) I called both tax credits and CB changed the info straight away over the phone, 3 days later the TC has appeared in my new bank account. Still have to wait for CB as its not due until the 26th but so far so good.0

            Well, what a surprise ........... no call back 
 Rang CB but told again they can't do anything. The person on the other end of the phone did get a bit of a rocket but it's not her fault:o Checked all my details and told I'd have to again wait for a call back from head office - they can't put me through or give me a direct number.
 What's worrying is that no-one else appears to have had these problems
 I must be special:rolleyes:0
