Have you thought about setting up a reading group? A shop here did and I think it went well, until they got new owners who got rid of it. Or maybe a writers group, they sometimes meet in bookshops. It'll get more people through the door.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

I haven't forgotten bookie, am just recovering..
I have royally got on my own nerves today...I have thrown my toys out of the pram about four times at work and then got cross with myself for being childish.....(actually not that childish I had good reason but I must learn to hide it better - you know cool calm collected an all that!)
Then I went for a run but didn't really want to go but went with similarly grumpy colleagues....bout ten minutes into the run I started to fly like the wind! Anyway I ran 7K!!
Back home to family crisis...the problem with OH having a big family is its a bit like the waltons, we have to have a pow wow about it and because I am here and they are there they all ring me one by one and have the same conversation with me (four times!)
then made some chicken (cos I have been for a run) and now just caught up!Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Sar, that was a gorgeous picture of your mum.....she would be proud of you and all that you have achieved.
I am trying to think of happy memories of my mum and try as I might I can't...that sounds awful....I love my mum to bits but she is not really the motherly type....I have loads of hilarious stories about her, but she is more like Patsy out of ab fab really. I do ring her in a crisis, but her answer to everything is that she will 'send reiki to the situation'. I honestly want to thump her sometimes......
But her mother, my grandmother was a different kettle of fish altogether....
My parents were entertainers...and were on the road much of the time, so I stayed with my grandma for most of the time. She brought me up, made me dust her living room every weekend to the sound of Englebert Humperdink and knitted my dolls clothes...She had a poodle cover for her bottles of homemade sasparella beer, and knitted dolls covering her toilet roll holders...
She loved me to bits and gave me loads and loads of love, she taught me how to parent basically. She died when I was 18 after a long battle with cancer...I still miss her everyday...Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford
