Balance transfer to spouses card?

Can anyone enlighten me, is it OK as far as the card companies are concerned for me to transfer a balance from a card in my name to one in my wife's name? The cards are not issued by the same company.

Many thanks in anticipation..

You can do this without problems. Usually they ask only 16-digit card number ...

They don't care and probably couldn't work this out even if they wanted to.

Stoozing with a partner is to be commended as it increases overall pot size and can be more flexible ie you can move money from person A to person B
  • Bear in mind that if you and your wife ever divorce, the debt is 'owned' (in the credit card company's mind at least!!) by the person whose account the card belongs to, i.e. in this case, your wife.

It would be a tad unfair not to pay off your wife's card with your stooz pot at that point should this be the case (unless she's been really unfaithful, of course!!)
