Advice and Guidance Required

I am currently being charged £124 monthly direct debit for my gas and £128 electric. I am in credit by £243 for gas and in debit by £236 electric. I live in a 4 bed house, 2adults, 2child, a combi boiler, 13 radiators, a gas fire, no other gas appliances, usual kitchen appliances, usual games (wii,ps2 &3), 1 computer, 1 laptop, 1 37"TV, 3 x 19" TVs. None of this has changed in the past 3yrs and no-one in my area is paying this much.
I have read a lot about average consumption and the regulators guidelines. My provider says I am using 47989kw of gas & 8599 of electric, this is double the regulators highest user guide!!
Can I possibly be using this much, all comments, suggestions, ideas welcome...I need to try reduce this, Thanks

  • These are high usage figures, but possible if the property is occupied during the day - do you have someone at home all day? I use 10000 kWh of gas and 3000 electric, but my property is half the size of yours and is empty all day Mon-Fri and most weekends.
