  • Someone I knew bought a couple of Argos sofas and they seemed decent enough to me, if not anything special.

Only problem was when they needed cleaning you couldn't take the cushions out to clean the base which I found a bit of a problem.

That's probably just a personal thing however.

We got leather sofas from Argos about 18 mpnths ago, similar deal, lok very similar too. They are comfy, wearing well with everyday use & still look good. I have been really pleased with them. The previous sofas we bought were over £1k & didn't wear anything like as well.

It's also quite relaxing when kids have friends round I am not too bothered about them iykwim. Can't see any obvious colour difference between leather & fake bits,

Personally I'd say unless you can go for really top quality, these sofas and others from the likes of SCS, DFS etc are all much of a muchness.

If you imagine having the same suite in 10 or 15 years this is not the one for you!

We tend to change our suite every 4 or so years because we fancy a change and want to keep up with the "in" styles and up to date colours, and suites like this would last us that length of time.

Who would have thought we'd be treating sofas as another disposable product? They just don't make em like they used to.....
You'll make my day if I know I've been helpful to you in some small way,

Cushions are always fixed in leather suites, wish they could make one my cat wont scratch!
  • Hello, You could try looking at Homebase to see one, same shop as Argos and some have a furniture dept. Also disagree that cushions are fixed on leather suites, ours all comes to pieces. It sounds from the description that the back and bottom cushions come out ?? Hope that helps

I got a brown leather sofa from Argos a few years ago for the children's playroom. It still looks good but one thing I realised was the seat depth from front to back was a bit short to be really comfortable so make sure you check the measurements.
