Refusing an offer from my insurance co.

My car has been written off by my insurance company and I refused their first offer.
They have just sent me another offer but I still don't think it's enough.
Realistically, how many times can I refuse until they say that it's as much as they will offer?
Anyone know?
Thanks
John

Find examples for sale that match your car and provide them to the insurer.
Remember that the price of second hand cars has dropped significantly so it helps to make sure you are being realistic too.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). As mentioned, above. Start building your case.
Be realistic, get examples of similar cars for sale (autotrader etc). Get valuations for your car from parkers and any other websites that do it for free. Have you spent a lot of money on it recently? (full MOT? Repairs?) Is it a lower mileage example? Full service history? Higher spec? Extras? (only those declared).
Put it all on paper and send it to them.
You could probably knock it back for ever but it's you thats not got the cash for your car.0 -
You can always use the Insurance ombudsman Service at the FSA (if your insurers are regulated by the FSA & it should say that at the bootom of your policy) http://www.fsa.gov.uk/C. (Ex-Pat Brit)

There is no insurance ombudsman and the FSA is the regulator and does not handle individual consumer complaints. There is the FOS but they will not consider complaints until you have made a complaint to the insurance company and have been deadlocked.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
