Renting a flat: a few questions
Can you tell me:
-Would I need to buy a tv licence, or would the owner have to pay for that?
-Are all utility bills usually included?
-If it's a furnished place, will it have the little things like cutlery, vacuum cleaner, kettle, etc included?
Thanks!

There is a sticky called the tenants guide to renting at the top of this forum. I suggest you read that first.
Then if you want further useful advice go to www.shelter.org.uk and keep a note of the website as this Housing Charity is a very good resource for tenants.
Edit: Sorry I am not answering your questions because you should do the research yourself as when you are in trouble you can look at the sticky or Shelters website first as the information is more useful and legal, then come to this site for answers.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

I'm considering renting a furnished flat on my own soon.
Can you tell me:
-Would I need to buy a tv licence, or would the owner have to pay for that?
TV licence is down to you. (Unless you are renting a room within a house, in which case one licence will cover the whole property)
-Are all utility bills usually included?
No, not usually. Again, rooms/bedsits within multiple occupation bedsits may offer this. Sometimes a property may have been converted into flats without planning permission and therefore there will only be one gas & meter supply but this is not the norm. It would be best to be responsible for your own supplies then you know you are not being ripped off and can shop around for deals.
-If it's a furnished place, will it have the little things like cutlery, vacuum cleaner, kettle, etc included?
Possibly, however this will vary from LL to LL. Generally "Part Furnished" means white goods are included and "Fully Furnished" would mean a bed, sofa/armchairs and tables etc. Smaller items may be left behind by previous tenants and be passed on with the flat.
