Acer laptop - I need some help please.

My friend has an Acer extensa 5220 laptop, bought at Xmas.

Today she switches it on, she gets Windows XP and 3 blue things on screen as if booting up, then nothing, will not boot in safe mode either, any ideas? (sorry if vague, I am getting this info over the phone).

I am wondering if she has a virus, its unlikely to be the laptop as it is new. She was operating Norton.

I would appreciate any help.

    I'd take it back and get them to sort it out as its under warranty

    ring the acer help line
    i sent my daughters laptop back to their repair place in plymouth
    and it came back repaired in less than a week
