Who shall we open a new account with???

Hello,

I was wondering if anybody can help, We are currently giving token payments to Lloyds, Halifax, HSBC & the Additions Catalogue and we need to open up a new account as HSBC are threatening to just take money out of our account.

Does anybody know which banks would be safe to use as i have read that some banks are linked and can still get access to your money?

Thank you for your time

If HSBC has a legally enforceable debt against you then moving accounts won't make it go away.

Major high street banks that don't belong to groups of the above are Barclays, NatWest, RBS, Co-Op and any of the Santander stable

A normal loan is legally enforcable, if you don't make the required payments they can come after you....

It seems that you are just trying to avoid paying your debt, moving bank accounts will not help you in the long term.

    Hi Chookmama

I guess the reason you are making token payments is because you are on some kind of a debt management plan?

If that's the case I would suggest you look at the Debt Free Wannabe board, people there can advise about basic bank accounts etc and dealing with your repayments in the longer term.

    Best wishes

Unless the OP is in a debt management plan, which they haven't mentioned anything about.
