Hello,
I was wondering if anybody can help, We are currently giving token payments to Lloyds, Halifax, HSBC & the Additions Catalogue and we need to open up a new account as HSBC are threatening to just take money out of our account.
Does anybody know which banks would be safe to use as i have read that some banks are linked and can still get access to your money?
Thank you for your time

If HSBC has a legally enforceable debt against you then moving accounts won't make it go away.
Major high street banks that don't belong to groups of the above are Barclays, NatWest, RBS, Co-Op and any of the Santander stable0 -

A normal loan is legally enforcable, if you don't make the required payments they can come after you....0

Hi Chookmama
I guess the reason you are making token payments is because you are on some kind of a debt management plan?
If that's the case I would suggest you look at the Debt Free Wannabe board, people there can advise about basic bank accounts etc and dealing with your repayments in the longer term.
Best wishes
