hey- need help with itunes and windows media

hi, found an old cd with mp3 files on, wanted to put it on my ipod as i cant find the originals of a few of them (an ex probably kept them lol) anyway when i put the disc in the drive windows asks what i want to do with it, it will play or view files fine but when i try and import into itunes everything looks fine till i try and sync to my ipod (it wont add the files) and when i try and play in itunes it says it cant find the original

btw its the latest itunes and i think the cds are 2-3 years old judging by whats on them

  • I think you need to copy or 'rip' the files to your computer.

For example... all my music is stored on my external hard drive and if I try to sync my iPod when the hard drive isn't conected it says it can't find the original. The hard drive needs to be connected for iTunes to find the original file. When you take the CD out iTunes cn no longer find the original (if that makes sense?)

If you put the CD in and view the files, copy them to your music folder then you can add them to iTunes from there.

Hope this helps... I'm not the most technical minded lol
  • wow, thanks :D
