Empire Direct Warranty?

Hi
All it all depends on whether your guarantee is the ED Extra one which has 3 year guarantee or a manufacturer one. ED guarantees will be pretty much worthless unless the company is bought as a going concern, and even then the new owner isn't under any legal obligation to fulfil commitments like this as it would undoubtedly have a different trading name etc. If you were lucky enough to have a manfacturers extended warrantee, you will still be covered by them.
Most manufacturers will honour the standard 1 year guarantee so long as you have the receipt.

Hi,
I bought 2 x LCD tv's (40" LCD Toshiba & 26" LG LCD) a week before X'mas from Empire, when they were delivered they did not have any warranty information. I bought both TV's from Empire because they were offering 5 year warranties with both TV's. I chased empire about the fact that I had no information about the 5 year warranty. They said it would be sent out to me within 2 weeks. (never received)
The problem I have is that I do not know if these were manufacturer warranties or Empire ones.
I got the TV's on Finance (buy now pay 9 months later), so can I not refuse to pay for the goods and return them as they have been supplied without the warranties they were sold to me with????. Surely the goods are not as sold!!. Did I not make an agreement with Empire that I would buy 2 x TV's both with 5 years warranties.
If they have defaulted on their side of the deal can I not do the same???
PS. Sorry to all those unfortunate people who have lost their jobs or goods they have bought and not received.0
