Children's savings

Hi, Can anyone advise me on the best accounts to open for children? Mine are 7 and 5 and already have National Savings Certificates. I would like something accessible so they can learn to save but still access the money. Many thanks!

Hi there,
i have just changed from the Nationwide to the Halifax Save-4-it instant access account for my two boys it comes with a passbook, great money box with coin tubes that sorts out the different coins for you (I aim to give them my pocket change each week and take it to the bank with them when its full), kit bag and calculator.
You can also open a Children Regular savers account to run along side this account you have to put in at least £10 and month in and not withdraw any money and after 12 months you get a good 10% interest on the balance, I have set up a standing order for this from the child benefit I receive.
Hope this helps.0
