Hi there
Need to get a copy of my natwest loan agreement and start ppi claim...Does anyone know the addresses to write to?? or do i send to my branch?
got a natwest credit card as well and have no idea if i have ppi on it as i got ages ago and didn't even know how to speak English at the time!!! do i ask on the same letter or do i do different ones for different claims?
and when i took out the loan i was told that i had to upgrade to advantage gold account with now charging £12.95 a month, was this legal? and can i claim those charges back?
have also noticed some other charges which i don't what they for, they are doubling each month!! can't be the overdraft as i have an agreed limit....
Any help on any of my questions would be greatly appreciated...
thank you

they have a customer service address in Borehamwood, but best for PPI claims to send to PPI Customer Concerns Team, Regulatory Risk, 5th Floor, 1 Hardman Boulevard, Manchester M3 3AQ.. phone is 0161 755 6890, generally found them to be pretty helpful. I hear they are having to open up a new office in Bristol to deal with claims, as they have run out of space in Manchester ?! re loans... re Loans, send it to Hardman Boulevard, but to PO BOX 484, and M60 3NS and reference it to the Manchester Retail Customer Service Centre.. these guys - not so helpful.0

You then write to the firm that actually made the sale of the PPI to you if this is different from the lender and don't forget to send this recorded delivery so you always a proof and dates etc.
After that you have to give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. In this time it is usual to get a response of "sorry we sold this to you fairly" but you then respond to this and reiterate your complaint again. The next time they write they either give you a final response which you would need in order to take this complaint to the FOS or offer to settle.

Good luck
Hope this is of help to you in your complaint and if you already know this then disregard the post...;)0 -

thank youYou seems to be in exactly the same position as myself. Took out a loan with Nat West, had to have insurance in order to have loan and also told that I would be able to get a cheaper rate loan if I upgraded to Advantage Gold, which like yourself now have to pay every month. I am new to all this claiming and would be grateful if you get any information to let me know as to whether we can claim these Advantage Gold amounts back, looking at it now it probablly would have been cheaper to have the higher rate of interest we will probablly pay more in the long run with the Advantage Gold Account rate. Look forward to hearing from yourself or anyone who has any advice on this matter. Will be applying to Nat West to get my PPI back. Good luck to everyone with their claims.

Have today decided to get the ball rolling in claiming PPI's. Have written to Capital One credit card as my husband is currently paying a PPI for around £6 per month on a very small balance on his card. We are people who never usually take out extra cover unless we can see it would really benefit us and I cant see that he would have taken out this cover if it was offered to him.
My biggest gripe has to be a letter that I have written to Nat West asking for my loan agreement, as I took out a loan either 2005/2006 with them. I have managed to find a Fixed Sum Loan Agreement for this, but am not sure whether this is the correct document to be looking at as it does not have a signature or a date on, it just gives details of the loan, eg Loan amount once broken down is:
Main Loan = £11,122.62
Cash Loan = £3,011.38
Insurance Loan = £4,125.04
Interest = £5,541.60
Annual Rate 7.8% over 84 months
Total value of loan = £24,666.60
As I can make out from the information it seems that the insurance has been added into the loan making the repayment so high, we pay just under £300 a months for this.
 I think we were ripped off big time with the loan insurance, at no point were we told it was optional, I think it was told to us that we had to have the insurance in order to have the loan and also I had to up my current account to an Advantage Gold account in order to get a slightly smaller rate on the loan which was made out to be to our advantage at the time, I now have to pay around £13 a month or so for this privelage, all in all its win win win for Nat West. Could anyone advise what would happen to our loan rate (would it alter) if I was to go and cancel my Advantage Gold account.
Look forward to hearing from anyone who may be in similar position to myself, or who has had success from claiming from Nat West.

I have just gone through the claim process with Natwest for my credit card, not that I don't think the rules change though.
The regulations state they are not allowed to make you take out PPI, it is soley your own decision as if to whether you would benefit from it or not, as I have a medical condition that's pre existing and did not come along after I took out PPI, that can have an effect on such matters, but in some other cases not, however this is my point below for my own case.
It was given to me as an option, I did not have to take out PPI in my case, but I was not advised of what it would exclude, nor was I given any documentation on what the terms and conditions of PPI, making my decision as to take it out or not quite vaige.
As a result I just thought the the bank would be nice to me and give me it if I needed it, like being out of work because of being made redundent or whatever, if it was not my own fault I was left jobless, I was doing some research and worked out that I had a valid case for claiming back my PPI since I was not advised on what it would exclude.
That is my case but in yours I would have though if you where forced to take out PPI to be accepted for the loan, then that is against the rules of selling PPI, so you will have a valid case, the banks as you may have been made aware in the media? That they are reserving quite a lot of money to cover these refunds.
I would wait until someone a bit more experienced comes along but I would say myself you have a very good case, if it was sold as insurance on your loan and you where forced to take a policy out I would try and claim for it anyways, but that's just my opinion.
Good luck with it, sounds like it could be quite allot, I just got over £1,200 for my claim which I really did not expect, 3 times the amount I thought it was going to be, I literally forgot that they have to refund charges I think if it was a result of PPI that you where left overdrawn, or interest charged as a result of PPI (the latter being the bulk of my refund).
Best of luck with it all!
Jeremy.Doing some indepth analysis of my outgoings it's a real eye opener!
I find if I keep paying by card and keeping the receipts insisting that I have them from the shop, then itemising them when I get home on excel makes my life a whooole lot easier!0 -
