Now I have vista home premium, my epson r300 will not tell me how much ink I have left???

I have a R200 and when i changed to Vista i had the same problem, googled and found that you install the Epson soft first then go to Epson's web page and they is a drive that you can download to fix the fault.
It worked for me but don't know if it's the same for the R3000 -
