Hello folks.... I have a long list of things that I want to try and family has suggested that I make. It takes a while to build up to some of those. I eventually got round to making flour tortillas and that's getting to be a habit.

One of the other things on the list is onion bhajis. I have had a look in the Indexed collection, but not found anything there. I do have a recipe somewhere but not a tried and tested one. I would rather have something known to work. I can imagine the pitfalls run something along the lines of them not holding together. I haven't deep fryed for ages, don't have a fryer, but usually use the wok, which came with a little rack to drain stuff on.

    I have gram flour!

I've made them before but it was a while ago and can't remember where I got the recipe from. The batter for them is really thick though so making them hold together shouldn't be a problem. They were really nice but I don't have a deep fryer anymore so bit scared of making them again.

    Hi purpleivy,

There are some recipes on this thread so I've added your thread to it to keep all the recipes together.

I've made them before and have just used a basic batter mix (like yorkshire). Added garam masala and a bit of salt and pepper and mixed it with the onions and deep fried it. They were rather yummy ! Not a patch on the ones you get from the indian but they weren't bad !
