Hiberfil.sys file BIG on C drive

Hello

On my work's Sony Vaio laptop, I have a hiberfil.sys file sat on my C drive that is 2GB in size. I understand that this is part of the hibernation feature, but I do not use this feature.

Now here's the problem, I have googled how to remove this and instructions say to go to the Power Options then to the hibernate tabe and uncheck the box. BUT I do not have a hibernate tab. I have a Vaio Power Management tab instead and this doesn't have the check box for hibernation, so how can i disable it?

Thanks for your help.

The file is created every time I switch on my computer. So this morning when I switched on just before 9am the file shows that it was created today at 08:58 and I have recently rebooted my computer and it now says 15:00.

So I probably could delete it but next time I switch on/reboot the file will be created again.

    UPDATE
After rebooting a couple of times, the hibernate tab reappeared, so I was able to uncheck the hibernate box, hurrah.

The size of the hyberfil.sys is the same as that of your real memory - so I deduce you have 2 GB of memory!
