TomTom updates

Hi All,

I wonder, would it be ethical for people to be able to share TomTom Sat Nav updates?

I have dowloaded the Safety Camera sites and installed the files onto my TomTom, people could possibly share these files with each other?

Its not as if you pay a license or anything? You just pay for the files...what are poeples thoughts? Should we share these?!

The fact that you pay for the files implies that the data is 'owned'. I am sure the T&C's of the TomTom plus subscription service prohibit such 'sharing' otherwise there would be no point in TomTom charging in the first place.

There are plenty of other Speed Camera overlays, etc. available for free although Pocket GPS World are going 'professional' (sic) and will be charging £2 per download (or £19 annual fee).

CheckPoint is free and vows to remain free - therefore no point in sharing data that could be already got for free, legally.

If your a legitimate tom tom owner i think the updates are free once you have registered on their site.
